CHESS TEAM RESULTS FROM THE PSCA TOURNAMENT

The fourth Polk Scholastic Chess tournament was at the Bartow Civic Center on Saturday, January 20. Awards for December were given out. The Middle School Team came in 4th Place. On Saturday Aidan McGraw won his first three games and played on the top board in the final round where he lost a very close game. Max Boyce and Logan Markham also posted 3-1 records, followed by Ben Houghton with 2.5 points. The team posted their best result of the season with 11.5 points out of a possible 16.
Tate Rogers went 3-1 in the Elementary Division. In the Primary Division, Calvin Hatch went undefeated with a score of 3.5.
Coach Mark Williams was impressed with their performances, the impressive winning rate of 67 percent, and the excellent sportsmanship displayed by the players.
